Lay down deeply dynamic drum grooves, play natural percussion patterns and control your favorite DAW functions — all from one intuitive interface. With 16 highly responsive, backlit rubber pads, a rotary encoder and dedicated working modes, the Steinberg CMC-PD is a multipurpose pad controller designed to improve your beat creation, recording and live performance workflow.
KEY FEATURES
The centerpiece of the CMC-PD is formed by 16 highly responsive rubber pads, laid out in an MPC-style 4x4 matrix. The pads allow you to create stunningly natural drum grooves and complex rhythmic patterns with the touch of your fingers. Best of all, the LED-based background lights change colors according to the velocity level — from green to orange over to red. In addition, the practical rotary encoder allows you to browse sounds and presets in next to no time.
The 4x4 layout makes the CMC-PD the ideal hardware partner for MPC-style, virtual drum samplers such as Steinberg’s Groove Agent ONE or external hardware sound modules. But the CMC-PD also works wonders as an all-in-one DAW control desk. And with the included PD Editor software you can easily change the MIDI note assignment for each pad.
The 4Velocity mode for easy step recording, 16 selectable volume response curves and power supply via USB round out the universal feature set of this slim-sized yet extremely versatile controller unit. In sum, the CMC Pad Controller offers excellent handling alongsideextensive customization options to turn it into an all-in-one DAW control solution.
